Hoot O'Clock Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Hoot O'Clock is an app that helps children aged 5–8 learn to tell time on an analog clock. We collect only the data the app needs to work. We do not show ads, we do not track users and we do not sell data.
1. Data controller
Trixsoft Kamil Nędzaul. Augustyna Szamarzewskiego 21 lok. 2, 60-514 Poznań, Poland
Tax ID (NIP): 6282218350, REGON: 383379280
Email: [email protected]
2. What data we process and why
| Data | When | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier (random, technical) | Always — after "Continue as guest" the app creates an anonymous account | App functionality, linking progress to the account |
| Exercise session results: mode, level, number of tasks, number of correct answers, completion date and time | After each finished exercise session | Showing the parent the child's progress in the parent zone |
| List of Trixsoft apps used with this account and the dates of first and last use | When the app starts | The shared account across Trixsoft apps, information shown when deleting the account |
| Email address and password | Only if a parent creates an account in the parent zone | Signing in and account management |
| First name | Only if a parent enters it in the parent zone | Personalizing the app |
| Purchase information: product (one-time purchase or subscription), purchase and renewal dates, subscription status, store transaction identifiers, store country and currency | Only if a parent buys the paid version or a subscription, or taps "Restore purchases" | Unlocking paid features, restoring purchases, handling complaints and settlements |
We never store passwords in plain text — they are stored by our authentication provider (Supabase) as secure hashes.
The app also stores settings (language, time format, clock face aids, last level) and a copy of session results on the device, so learning works offline. This data stays on the device, except session results, which are copied to the account.
What we do not collect: location, photos, recordings, contacts, advertising ID, payment card details or analytics. Payments are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The app contains no ads and no tracking tools.
3. Children
The app is made for children, but a child does not need to provide any personal data to use it. An email address, password and first name can only be entered in the parent zone, which is protected by a parental gate. Session results do not contain data that identifies the child.
4. Legal basis
We process data because it is necessary to provide the service you request by using the app (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Providing a first name and email address is voluntary.
We keep purchase records to meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), and to handle complaints (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Who we share data with
Data is stored by our infrastructure provider Supabase Inc. (authentication and database), which processes it only on our behalf. Purchases and subscriptions are managed by RevenueCat, Inc., which receives the account identifier and purchase information from the store and processes them only on our behalf. RevenueCat does not receive payment card details. We do not share data with anyone else, we do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
You download the app and make purchases through Google Play or the App Store — the stores process data, including payment data, under their own privacy policies.
6. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Data is stored on Supabase servers in the European Union. Supabase Inc. is a company based in the United States, so in exceptional cases (for example, technical support) data may be accessed from outside the EEA. Such access is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States and processes purchase information there. The transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account data, session results and purchase information until the account is deleted. After the account is deleted, purchase records may be kept in anonymized form for up to 180 days for legal and accounting purposes. The stores keep their own purchase history under their own rules. You can remove the data stored on the device by uninstalling the app.
8. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account in the app: For parents → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — we delete the account, first name, email address, session results and the list of apps linked to the account.
Deleting the account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
The account is shared across Trixsoft apps. If you use the same account in another of our apps, deleting it also removes access and data in those apps — the app shows this before you confirm.
You can also request deletion of your account or some of your data by email. Details: delete your Hoot O'Clock account.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object. To exercise these rights, email [email protected].
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland) or with the supervisory authority in your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We will announce material changes on this page by updating the "Last updated" date. If the app gets new features that process data, we will update this policy before they become available. See also the Terms of Use.
